Comprehensive School Health Hub
The Comprehensive School Health (CSH) Hub is a community for individuals involved in teaching, learning, and researching CSH at the post-secondary level.
About the CSH Hub
The Comprehensive School Health Hub is co-managed, and supported, by Dr. Shelly Russell-Mayhew at the University of Calgary’s Werklund School of Education and Ever Active Schools.
Ever Active Schools is a registered national charity designed to create and support healthy school communities through the internationally recognized Comprehensive School Health framework. Each year Ever Active Schools supports healthy school communities in approximately 1,000 schools and community programs across the country.
Dr. Shelly Russell-Mayhew is a Research Professor and registered psychologist at the University of Calgary’s Werklund School of Education. She is Director of the Body Image Research Lab and an internationally recognized and award-winning researcher in wellness in teacher preparation programs.
Together Dr. Russell-Mayhew and Ever Active Schools lead the national Teachers of Tomorrow project. Teachers of Tomorrow proposes an upstream approach to addressing student well-being through the issue of teacher preparedness, situating it both as a proximal factor with immediate student impact, and as a critical lever of systemic change utilizing a Comprehensive School Health (CSH) framework.
