Ever Active Schools develops a number of resources that support wellness education and comprehensive school health (CSH). These resources are available for download or purchase on our website. Ever Active Schools also serves as a connecting point and hub, sharing and highlighting many of the other great resources developed by our partners.

The resources below are organized according to Comprehensive School Health.

At the top you will find some general CSH resources, followed by some resources to support the CSH process. After which, the resources are broken down into the components of CSH and the priority areas:

  • Priority areas include: Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, & Positive Social Environments.
  • Components include: Teaching and Learning, Social and Physical Environment, Partnerships and Services, and Healthy School Policy

KEY PRIORITY AREAS

Physical Activity

Physical activity is one of the priority areas of comprehensive school health. Canada’s Physical Activity Guide recommends at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity.

Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is one of the priority areas of comprehensive school health. Although the nutritional requirements of young people vary with age, sex and activity level, all children and youth benefit from a well-balanced approach to eating.

Positive Social Environments

Positive social environments is a priority area of comprehensive school health, with a focus on creating an environment to support social-emotional learning where every child is physically safe, emotionally secure and psychologically enabled to learn.
