WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH SHAPING THE FUTURE 2021?

It’s officially 2021, which can only mean one thing: it’s almost time for Shaping the Future!

In the best interest of public health, the conference will be held entirely online this year. This is as new for us as it is for you, so bear with us! We’re doing everything we can to make Shaping the Future 2021 as great as possible this year.

So, what exactly does a virtual conference look like? Let’s walk through it.

The conference officially opens January 17th (so make sure you register before then!) You’ll have access to the virtual community through our conference app, available on both web and mobile. Through the app, you can view the schedule, access sessions, network with other delegates through virtual meetups and chats, peruse the exhibitors and more.

To kick things off, we’re launching more than 50 pre-recorded sessions for you to access and watch when it suits you. These sessions will be available for three months to watch at your leisure. Presenters for these sessions will be available for Q&A through the app.

On January 27 and 28, we’ll be hosting LIVE virtual workshops in the afternoon and early evening. In these sessions, we strongly encourage you to turn on your camera and make sure you have space to move – like any other year, Shaping the Future workshops are designed to be fun and interactive learning opportunities!

To close the conference on January 29, we’ll have one more workshop for you in the afternoon, followed by our incredible keynote speaker, Shelley Moore: a highly sought-after teacher, researcher, speaker and storyteller who has worked with school districts and community organizations throughout both Canada and the United States. Shelley will present on Designing for ALL: Curricular & Class-wide Support Frameworks that Respond to Diversity.

We hope that you can push through the video platform fatigue to join us for this incredible conference; and we can’t wait to be able to host it in-person once again, hopefully as soon as next year.

Happy Shaping the Future!
